G12

Introduction

Before Jesus ascended back to heaven He left an important command to His disciples: “Go and Make Disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19,20). We call this the GREAT COMMISSION.  This is the Vision (Goal) of Jesus Christ. This is the reason why He came – to Seek and Save those who are Lost all over the world.

To accomplish His mission (of world conquest) Jesus SELECTED 12 Disciples, THEN He formed (or designed) them and SENT them out to win the world for Him.

In our church we believe that EVERYBODY is part of Christ’s Vision to Conquer the World.  No one is exempted.  No one is a spectator. Everybody has a part or role to play in realizing the Vision of Christ.  That’s why we believe that EVERYBODY SHOULD BE A DISCIPLE of Christ and none should just be a member.

What is G12?

G12 – or Groups of 12 – is Jesus’ discipleship strategy to accomplish His Vision of World Conquest.  God wants every nation, tongue and race to be under the Lordship of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19, Romans 10:9,10).

What is a G12 Cell Group?

Each G12 Cell Group is led by a Cell Group Leader (Discipler) with 12 Cell Group Members (Disciples).  A G12 Cell Group may start with less than 12 Cell Members, but 12 is the GOAL.  The Cell Group Leader (Discipler) monitors the activities of the members (disciples).  The disciples submit to the authority of the discipler (Hebrews 13:17)

Are there Different Kinds of G12 Cells?

There are actually TWO kinds of G12 Cells: (1) Open Cell and (2) Discipleship (or Close) Cell.
The Open Cell is for Evangelism, therefore, it can have more than 12 members.  The Close Cell is for Discipleship and can only have a maximum of 12 Cell Members.

What is the Basic Lifestyle of a Disciple?

A healthy Disciple observes the following:

Daily Devotion – daily reading of the Bible and Prayer.  This is the bedrock of our relationship with God.  Without a Daily Devotion relationship with God does not exist.

Church Attendance – each disciple must be faithful in attending the Sunday Service.  However, attendance is NOT ENOUGH. There are two kinds of attendance: Right and Wrong Attendance.

Wrong Attendance                         Right Attendance
Late                                                On Time
No Bible                                          With Bible
No Ballpen                                      With Ballpen
No Notebook                                   With Notebook
No Tithes and Offering                      With Tithes and Offering

A healthy disciple take down sermon notes.  Note-takers are history-makers.

Cell Group – a healthy disciple has his/her own cell group where he/she attends once a week.  The purpose for attending the cell group is for Discipleship.  Discipleship is THE PROCESS OF PUTTING ONE’S LIFE IN ORDER.

Training – each disciple must go through our Discipleship Training Track.  Our Training Track is called PEPSOL.

PEPSOL is the acronym for PRE-ENCOUNTER, ENCOUNTER, POST-ENCOUNTER and SCHOOL OF LEADERS.  PEPSOL is a training course that lasts for 52 weeks.  After a disciple graduates from PEPSOL he/she is promoted to CELL LEADER with his/her own cell group of 12 disciples.

What are the Basic Skills of a Disciple in the G12 Vision?

1.  Daily Devotional with Notebook – a disciple journals his devotional.

2.  Evangelism with Assimilation – a disciple should know how to bring people to church and help them stay in church.

3.  Knows how to open Cells – a disciple must know how to start a cell group and maintain it.

4.  Knows how to complete his/her 12 – the goal of each disciple is to complete his/her team of 12 to help him/her become fruitful.

5.  Knows how to multiply cells – a disciple not only completes his/her 12 but must also help his/her 12 complete theirs.

What is the Vision of Promotion?

Our Discipleship System includes a VISION for PROMOTION for all our members.

Attender – this is the lowest level.  An attender has virtually no responsibility and no commitment to the church or the Vision of Christ.  This is the most Unfruitful level.

Member – this is the second level.  A member is someone who has become part of the church through water baptism and has some basic responsibilities (church attendance, giving of tithes and offerings).

Disciple – this is the third level.  A disciple is someone who has been baptized in water, is under a Discipler and has a Cell Group.  A disciple is also undergoing PEPSOL Training.

Discipler – this is the fourth level.  A discipler is one who handles a cell group with 12 or less members. This is the most fruitful level.

Discipler of Disciplers - this is the highest level of promotion. One becomes a discipler of disciplers when his discipleship has reached the network level (12 x 12 or 12 x 12 x 12 or more).

What are the kinds of Disciplers in the G12 System:

Cell Leader – a discipler with 12 disciples (12 in all).

G12 Leader – a discipler whose 12 disciples have their own 12 disciples (144 in all).

Network Leader- a disciple whose 12 disciples have their own 12 and their 12 have their own 12 (1728 in all).

A healthy Christian has a vision for promotion and tries to reach the highest level of fruitfulness.

Conclusion

Join the discipleship process and let God put your life in order so that you can help conquer the world for Jesus Christ.  Christianity is not about going to church – it’s about changing the world.

God bless you.
